Apple TV not syncing with Garmin Connect

I did an Allez Allez race on Zwift for the first time last night using Apple TV. When I’ve done other rides on Zwift using Apple TV in the past, I’ve never had any issues syncing with Garmin Connect or Strava.

After the race, the results page showed only the top few riders around me (about the top 6), and then the leaderboard froze. I couldn’t select the “Close” button on that page. It seemed like I was still “riding” but stuck on the results screen, so I couldn’t properly continue with a cool-down ride.

As a result, the activity is showing on Zwift Power, but it’s not syncing to Garmin or Strava.

Any ideas on what happened?

Do you force-close Zwift after every session?

Hi Steve. I was trying all sorts to try and get back to the platform even switching off the Apple TV. When I switched it back on it was still on the leaderboard page. No response from any buttons on the remote.

When I tried to login to Zwift on my phone it said I have a session already open on another device.

The recommended force-quit process is in this document:

Does that work?

Hi Paul. I can try that next time if it freezes, thanks. I just turned everything off and left it and when I switched it on this morning it is at the normal Zwift home screen to start a ride.

Not sure why the race ride from yesterday is now not syncing to Garmin Connect and it showing on Zwift Companion and Zwift Power.

Hey Folks,

Welcome to forums @Gareth_Tuson, and thank you for the tips shared by @Steve_Hammatt and @Paul_Southworth.

It seems you’ve encountered an issue while trying to save your data. This could be due to several reasons, such as being logged in from multiple devices. It’s advisable to log out properly after completing an activity to prevent any further unresponsiveness from the main device you use for Zwift.

If your activity hasn’t been uploaded to Garmin Connect, you still have the option to upload it manually. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Use a mobile browser (on your phone or tablet) to navigate to my.zwift.com.
  2. Log in and locate the activity you wish to upload.
  3. Tap the gear icon next to the activity and select Download Fit File.
  4. Save the file to your device.
  5. Open Garmin Connect in a browser.
  6. Click the cloud upload icon in the top right corner and choose Import Data.
  7. Select your fit file and upload it.

If your fit file fails to upload or appears to be malformed, you can try following the steps in this article to see if it can be recovered.

I hope this helps, and in case you need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Have a nice day, all.

Hi Alejandra. I appreciate the response and I have just followed these steps and successfully imported the ride into Garmin. I was not logged in on multiple devices just the Apple TV app and the Zwift Companion so it is strange.

Thanks everyone for all your responses. :raising_hands:
