I’ve only seen it on a couple riders - the first time I thought it was a glitch.
I don’t see it documented anywhere - at least the searches I’ve done come up with nothing…
You can see one in the image below
This means the rider is over level 200. There is a lady who does enormous distances per week who has been at 200 for at least a week already.
What about the red ‘Z’ ?
Makes sense, I am not surprised knowing of one of those people.
Are they just going to stop at 2 stripes, or is that going end to end?
You know people would make a challenge out of it if so…
Stripes are for level 100 (1) 200 (2) and so on.
I don’t know if anyone is level 200 legitimately, but a few real riders are closing in on 200.
Zwift employees have their own symbol (orange).
If you hit level 6, you become a part-owner of Zwift.
At level 7, you become a member of the board.
Level 8 is vice president, 9 is co-ceo, and at level 10 you become the head of the complaint department.
I guess we may be thinking of the same person. The way we are avoiding who they are would make you think there was something suspicious going on.
Probably not… I don’t know how far the levels go, I don’t do 1000-2500km per week so I am far behind the leaders in that rush to level up.
I’m not thinking there is any funny business in this case. There are people you see riding regularly and in this case this individual is regularly 100k+. I’m happy hitting 400-450k/week
Dan Tolhurst joined our long Saturday ride last week, he didn’t respond when I reached out to him, but surprised he’s not at 200 yet; Cat Allen and him are both in the 170s.
I guess the difference is… the handful of people that appear to be into the 200s are doing 30-40 hours a week.
Cat and Dan are only in the… still insane, almost 30 hours a week.
What’s funny now actually is to look through the list of the highest distance riders and now see just how many of them have the name Watopian in Review ![]()
Looking at people I’m also familiar with, I’d give it a breakdown like this:
200+ riders are clearly doing a mental amount of riding, 30-40hrs a week consistently
170+ riders doing pro hours per week in the 30hrs range.
150+ riders likely in the 20hrs range
130+ riders probably in the 10-12hrs range.
I’m at level +200 now, all real riding, real weight and no tricks.
I ride around 35 hours in a week, but riding the Alpe and often hitting 1000XP on the spinner at the top definitely helps on leveling up.
I think that often gives more XP/hour than on the flats - at least for a lightweight rider.
BòóX
I have been ignoring that list. It is just ridiculous.
30 hours plus per week is hard, especially if you are doing outdoor rides and mostly solo rides in Zwift. I was doing 30+ hours week in week out earlier this year. I have backed off a bit - between 12-15 hours per week, I was getting too fatigued and going close to getting injured. Besides, I like riding real bikes outside.
You can see where some of the dubious distances come from if you visit Alpe at the right time each day and watch the teleporting folk joining their friend as he goes up the climb. Lots of free distance there with no need to pedal, while they brag in the chat about how clever they are. When he reaches the top, you can put money on it that the two others will join for their free downhill. Their friend is supposedly doing a basecamp today, so the other two will get a lot of free downhill kms.
