As some of us know, there is an observatory one of the hills above the sprint. Perhaps an extension could be made for a climb up to this observatory? The hill appears quite steep, so maybe one with (lots of) hairpins?

Between the tunnels in Ocean Boulevard there’s an under construction area with a mountain view billboard. I’d suspect we’ll be getting a climb expansion there.
I am aware of this, but I mean this idea as a short side route rather than a full-fledged side loop.
It’s actually a good idea, short of short side roads which don’t actually have to form a loop.
One of my favourite rides is Sant Salvador Monastery in Mallorca http://www.mallorcadaysout.com/9.10.html which is just one road up, then turn around and come back.
