3 Second Average with 10 Second Sprints

Hi folks. I’ve been doing the 12 week FTP workout program. A few days ago that day’s training involved doing 10 second sprints. I had the ‘3 Second Average’ option turned on, and I think it affected the sprint results. I found that whenever I started a sprint the wattage display was slow coming up, and this would cause me to mess up on how hard I was trying. 

The next workout with sprints I’m going to make sure to turn this option off and see if it is better. Has anyone else encountered this with the sprints when using the 3 second averaging?

I would turn it off, particularly for short efforts.

You need to know what you’re currently doing, not the mean of what you were doing a few seconds ago.
