2026 Zwift Wishlist

I know.. But it would be nice to have a route like this. Loop or not, it’s still 100 km flat..

You can ride them already, you just have to do manual navigation, that’s part of the fun. Integrating them directly into Zwift would take away that.

Trying to remember were you are on the route and fumbling around having to press multiple buttons on the controller with a big change of accidentally pressing the wrong whilst crashing into the sides of my smart rollers and damaging my sidewalls is definitely not what I would call fun. And it could be so easy by just creating a custom route creator but instead we get useless ai junk

I completely understand that it’s possible to ride the route using manual navigation, and I appreciate that the option is there. However, it’s not really what I’m looking for. Personally, I don’t find it very engaging to have to “navigate” around in a virtual world while training.

My wife and I mainly use Zwift during the winter to maintain our fitness for the longer outdoor rides we do in spring, summer, and autumn. What we’re hoping for are longer, relatively flat routes that we can simply select and ride — without having to think about navigation, and instead just focus on the training itself.

I think routes like that would be a great addition for those of us who use Zwift primarily as structured winter training rather than for exploration.

There is (or was) that Road Captain. I haven’t used it though.

It doesn’t work anymore at least not if you want to access the Southern Coast, Mayan Jungle, The Grade or Jarvis

They would be popular when the festive 500 rolls around also.

Thank you for your input — I appreciate the suggestion. However, it seems that Road Captain hasn’t been updated or maintained for the past couple of years, and it doesn’t handle the newer roads correctly. Because of that, it’s not really a solution I’m interested in pursuing.

We only use Zwift during the winter months, until we can get back out on the real roads again. So for now, I’ll simply make do with the existing routes and ride them repeatedly.

Hopefully, Zwift will have introduced a few new features by the time we return next winter

Have a fantastic weekend!
Best regards from Denmark,
Palle

One of the sauce mods has a new and very good route creator and auto navigator.

The rebel routes are slowly being added to a repository to load in and follow.

I would like to be able to create workouts where intervals can be created by distance as well as time. This way it would be easy to do create your own time trials for 10k, 16k, 40k etc.

I would also like to see track events, too

For now stuck with repeating laps of something like Wandering Flats (4x) or Three Musketeers (3x)

That sounds really great! I’m looking forward to the day when it becomes available for all of us to use.

That said, I still genuinely hope that the team behind Zwift will create more routes that can be selected directly from the official route library.

I think this has been asked for before but not for a few years. Rather than pick a route when starting a ride, why cant we get the option to pick a start gate or archway for our session? We can then pick & choose our route knowing which junctions are coming up & when on our mini map. Yes we can pick an existing route based on the start point we want but you need to know all the starting points for each routes.

Would that include the top of Ventoux and the Alp?

Yes please.

While we are at it with these “suggestions”, why not a built in distance bot function so people don’t need to do teleports to tops of mountains.

Then everyone can do 5000km per week like one rider was doing during the height of the bike upgrade rush.

That decision would be up to the Zwift team. Choosing to start at the top of Ventoux or the Alpe is hardly cycling, its freewheeling. It would the same as starting at the top of Radio Tower/Epic KOM……what benefit to your cycling or fitness would you get by freewheeling downhill? Starting at any of these archways cannot be classed as a warm up if you are freewheeling. The only benefit is free XP’s and drop points.

If they don’t pedal downhill, then they don’t get drops.

I’d be okay with the downhill sections not counting for XP, drops or distance, then allow them to start from the tops of mountains.

This would interrupt the distance totals of a few folks.

I wouldn’t take those suggestions seriously.

There will always be those who want to abuse any system. In the case of drops, they could just turn their legs over just enough to get the drops ticking over. If anyone is cycling on Zwift and has put in the effort to get up any/multiple climbs on their workout, I dont see the issue getting some XP’s & drop points as they recover going downhill. It happens when we are outdoors cycling.

I use to use the Alp to go down until a segment (whether it was turn 7 or 16) and attack one segment at a time. But, of course, I was not expecting that. Obviously, people would use it for countless upgrade miles. (although Rouvy does allow it for the Stelvio and one other major climb and it counts too.) Eric said Zwift set it up mainly for testing and it was not ever used openly.

However, a downhill race, especially a draft less time trial, would be fun.
